Mission

Logo showing the two heads of the God, Janus. Vintage illustration of two stylized human profiles facing opposite directions, with an intricate maze pattern overlaid on their heads, enclosed in a circular border.

At JANUS, we believe that every journey of growth begins at a gateway—where past experiences shape the foundation for future transformation. Inspired by the ancient god Janus, who stands at the threshold of change, our mission is to empower individuals to navigate life’s transitions with clarity, resilience, purpose, and most importantly, guided support.

His two faces remind us that looking to the past can also help us move toward the future, as reflection and growth go hand in hand. Yet, transformation isn’t just about recognizing the doorway—it’s about finding the key to step through it. Through compassionate mental health support and transformative coaching, we help our clients uncover the tools and strategies they need to unlock new approaches, opportunities, and possibilities.

Whether facing personal challenges, educational and career shifts, interpersonal connections, organizational changes, or self-discovery, JANUS is the bridge between where you’ve been and where you’re meant to go.

Find your key. Step through the doorway. Your future awaits.

  • "Virginia is a brilliant coach and therapist whose compassion, understanding and patience with clients gives them the advantage they need to become successful in their lives. Her empowering support for her clients displays her mastery of the coaching profession. Virginia can hear clients fully in a way that few humans can. She can seemingly suspend time so there is enough room for the whole story, while also keeping things moving so the client is done when they need to be, having defined their next steps, and can carry on. Virginia’s knowledge and experience run broad and deep--the result of years of curiosity, life experiences and professional preparation. Her integrity is matchless. Virginia provides guidance that is expert, professional and, above all, caring. She goes beyond the boundaries of the sessions to seek out information that may be helpful and her sensitivity to her client needs means the challenges she sets are realistic yet highly fruitful. I would recommend her to anyone who is uncertain of where life is leading them. Virginia is great at picking up on underlying core beliefs that cloud everything and block the way forward. She will help you get free of things you have been carrying around for years. When it comes to coaching – Virginia is simply a master!"

  • "Skill in cultivating deep and substantive relationships with individuals and their family members is so critical for any practitioner in the area of life coaching and related therapeutic support. When paired with outstanding communication and a collaborative approach, there is every likelihood that great and sometimes life-changing things will happen. That is the experience my family and I had working with Virginia. Over the course of nearly two years, my young adult son and I were privileged to work with Virginia. We both benefited tremendously from Virginia’s ability to facilitate balanced and productive conversations while tackling so many of the challenges and opportunities our family explored. Through the course of our partnership my son navigated living semi-independently, pursuing college, securing a part time job and expanding his social network and community of peers. Virginia’s support and counsel played an instrumental role in all the progress he made and included a greatly enhanced self awareness and new-found confidence. Virginia also excels in a team-oriented approach, and her connectivity with other support partners was exceptional - which also led to many positive experiences and outcomes. She is an active listener, and draws focus to the topics that truly matter to families and individuals. Her humor and humanity adds to her knowledge and helps to make even difficult dialogue accessible and successful. She was expert at tapping into my son’s unique gifts in order to help him move forward to attain his goals. In addition to the guidance and counsel she offered to him, she helped me grow and develop as a parent in many ways. We remain privileged to have benefited from Virginia’s abilities and her admirable and relentless commitment to helping people progress in their lives." - Rachel G
